
Mecklenburg Medical Group is comprised of more than 90 physicians, offering 10 areas of specialized care to patients in Charlotte and neighboring towns. Celebrating 75 years in 2011, MMG is one of the oldest and most respected healthcare providers in Charlotte. With March being Colon Cancer Awareness month, MMG charged us with creating a poster campaign to display in their 12 locations.
The focus of the message was threefold: 1) To remind people to begin routine colonoscopies at the recommended age of 50, 2) to alleviate fears associated with colonoscopies, and 3) to educate the public on the life-saving impact these routine procedures can have.
Given the nature of colonoscopies, we kept the imagery simple and non threatening. Balloons made from medical gloves allowed for a lighthearted, nostalgic feel, but also poked fun of the stigma associated with the actual procedure. The balloons also made a direct connection with the “celebration” of Colon Cancer Awareness Month.
