
Our solution was two-part: 1) A message positioning the vaccine as a means of protecting the ones you love, and 2) A message positioning the vaccine as the easy answer, when compared to the misery of contracting the flu.
The first concept featured large custom photography of a woman standing next to her elderly mother. The focus of the photo is a bandage on the woman’s arm that we made the color of MMG’s teal to make it stand out. The woman is wearing the bandage like a badge of honor, because she’s done her part to prevent the spread of the flu.
The second concept shows an arrangement of thermometers, pills, lozenges and medications that appear to take the form of a syringe. The message here? Yes, the flu shot itself is not a lot of fun. But it certainly is the easy choice when you consider the alternative of contracting the flu—and all the medications, doctors’ appointments, missed work and misery that goes along with it.
