Mecklenburg Medical Group’s dermatology department provides a host of cosmetic services that the average person goes to a spa or salon to receive. But unbeknownst to the general public, many of these procedures should only be performed by medical professionals. MMG tasked us with creating a poster series educating their current patients on their list of cosmetic dermatological services—and the dangerous misconception that “non-surgical” means “non-medical.”
We chose to base the campaign on works of art. We opted for age-old paintings of beautiful women that would be widely recognizable, only we “ruined” the paintings with cracks, wrinkles and burns. The parallel was easily drawn: The things that ruin works of art can also ruin your skin. A simple message followed, informing patients that MMG provides an array of cosmetic dermatological services—by medical professionals who are licensed to perform them.
